    (c) Why does the blind boy think that he is a king?

    Answer: The blind boy thinks himself to be a king while he sings because he has a cheer of mind.

    (d) Quote any two lines from the poem suggest that the boy has a positive attitude towards life.

    Answer: “Then let not what I cannot have

                        My cheer of mind destroy;”

     These two lines suggest that the boy has a positive attitude towards life.

    Complete the following imaginary dialogue between Day and Night. The beginning of the dialogue is given for you:

    Day: Dear friend, I must declare I am more important than you.

    Night: I don’t know how you can say that.

    Day: The sun rises during the day. People work and the children can play and go to school.

    Night: Everyone takes rest at night and without this rest, no one can work during the day. It is not less important.

    Day: You bring darkness, I bring light and all look bright.

    Night: I have the light of the moon. I make the surroundings cool, you do just the opposite.

    Day: Indeed, that’s true. We can then say that both of us are important to human beings.

    Night: Yes, Mankind needs day and night both and without night the day cannot be beautiful.

    ACTIVITY – 8 (c)

    Develop a story within sixty words based on the following hints. Add a suitable title to it:

    An old lady loses vision_ calls in a doctor – agrees to pay a large fee if cured – doctor removes some of her furniture daily – lady is cured – she refuses to pay – says she cannot see any of her furniture.

    An Old Blind Lady and a Dishonest Doctor

      Once Upon a time there lived an old lady. Unfortunately in an accident she lost her vision. So, she called a doctor for treatment of her eyes. She agrees to pay a large fee if she is cured. The doctor starts treatment of her eyes. The dishonest doctor removes some of her furniture daily. Thus at a time there was no furniture in the lady’s house. After a few months the old lady became cursed but saw no furniture in house. She realized that the doctor removed all her valuable furniture. Then the doctor told the lady to give him his fee which she promised. But the lady refused to pay it and said, “Nothing is visible in my house. So, you have failed to cure my eyes. So I will not give you the fee.
