He took his schooling from David Drummond’s ‘Dhurramtallah Academy’. He served as a teacher of English literature and History in Hindu College. His great achievements were Assistant editor of ‘The India Gazette’, editor of ‘The Calcutta Gazette,’ ‘The East Indian’ and ‘ThE Bengal Annual’ ‘ etc. His notable works were’ ‘To India, my Native Land’,’ The harp of India ‘,’ The Fakir of Jungheera’ etc. He took his last breath on 26th December 1831.
